1-21-12 = First snow day of 2012

I had all intentions of coming into work Saturday for some overtime $$...but when I woke at 5am and saw the streets, cars, sidewalks covered in snow my plans changed and I went right back to bed. Fast forward to 7am and the kids were up! And once they saw the snow, that was all she wrote! Monkey stood at the front door windows, just starring. Princess stood at the other front door window in awe, and kept saying with a smile "I like snow!". And Buddy sat on the couch playing his ipod. Seriously?! LOL! We all ate a quick breakfast and by 8am were bundled up, ready to go play outside.

Now...we didn't get a lot of snow. In most the pics you can see grass still. BUT...the snow we did get was GREAT for sledding. And our backyard has a little hill. Add the BIG hill our neighbors out back have and you're talking hours and hours of fun. And that's what happened.

We went out at 8am and didn't come in until lunch! Well, Monkey was in shortly after we went out, but he sat by the back door, eating snow, watching everyone else sledding :) Babe and I took turns with him. But the other kids stayed out the whole time. Some of the neighbors came over, too! Loved it! After nap time and a movie, we headed back outside from 4ish until almost 6ish. I wasn't lying when I said "hours" :) We were all exhausted. And Babe and I were are so sore! Getting old stinks!
