R.I.P.

In a previous blog, I mentioned how I would be visiting a relative that was sick and on hospise. His name is Jim, and he is my Mom's cousin. Only a few months ago they found out he had cancer, and that quickly he was on hospice.

On Wednesday, the 26th, my mom, my Aunt Joyce, Buddy & I were able to go see him. It was the day after Christmas, and he was doing Christmas with his kids, grandkids, and other family and friends. When we got to their house, I was amazed to see him walk through the hallway, excited about his "hawaiin santa" shirt he had on. He looked a lot thinner, but he was so full of life! He gave each of us a hug, and thanked us for coming!

We stayed a good hour; we got to see him open his gifts, along with the rest of the family. They even had a present for Buddy, which was very nice of them. I let my Mom & Aunt have some time alone with Jim, and took Buddy to play upstairs with the other little kid there. Jim started feeling dizzy, so Pat, his wife, helped him back to bed. We left shortly after.

Yesterday, the 27th, my Mom got the call that Jim had passed away.

It's so strange to me how things like that happen. One day, he seems so alive and well, and the next he's gone. Though, after working in a Nursing Home for 3 years, I do know that the Holidays either make a person stronger, or a person weaker. So many residences at the Nursing Home I worked at passed away around the Holidays. It was the strangest thing.

I believe Jim was holding out for the Christmas celebration with his family. I believe he passed away peacefully and happily. Everyone at the party was so happy and Jim was smiling the whole time. I'm glad he is no longer in pain, but I am sorry for his loss, especially for those closest to him. May they get through his loss peacefully!

Merry Christmas!!!

Well, this Christmas sure was a great one! I can't believe it's been and gone already! I took the day off today to recover, yet I feel like I could use the rest of the week ;) Wouldn't that be nice???

Christmas Eve

Buddy, Babe & I made cookies for Santa Claus in the morning...chocolate chip, Santa's favorite! Melis & Mitri came over around 1 to hang out for a little while, and then we went to Mass at St. Ursula with Babe's family. Buddy fell asleep, and stayed asleep, throughout the whole Mass. After Mass, we went back to Babe's parents house to celebrate Christmas! A lot of Babee's family was there, and it was great to see everyone!!! We opened gifts later in the evening, and Buddy got so much! He was lovin' it! Babe's mom put together a fun game, that was kind of like "Deal or No Deal." She had 5 gift bags, and handed out 5 numbers. Whoever had #1 (me) picked a gift bag. Whoever had #2 (Rachel) could either take the gift bag I took, or pick their own. It went like this until the last person picked a giftbag. Babe ended up stealing my giftbag from me, and Buddy then took it from Babe. Buddy was the big winner of that game, and ended up $100.00 richer! The lil' bugger ;) We headed home around 10:30, to get ready for Santa. Tyler DID NOT fall asleep on the way home, which didn't help Santa's Helpers (Babe & I) to get ready any quicker. It didn't take long for Buddy to fall asleep, though...so we were good to go after that!

Christmas Day
(and my Mom's Birthday!)

Buddy woke up around 7:15...not too bad. We started with the stockings. Buddy's was overflowing. We then headed downstairs. The 1st thing Buddy saw was his Smart Cycle . He got excited, and hopped on. He wanted to play with it right away, but Babe & I reminded him that Santa probably left more gifts under the tree. Buddy ran towards the tree, and said "OH! MY! GOSH!" when he saw what Santa had left.

He saw that Santa left a letter, and 1 cookie. He asked where the rest of the cookies went, and I told him "Santa ate them!" Well, Buddy said "I think I'm mad at Santa now for eating all my cookies!" LOL...he's too funny ;)

It took Buddy about an hour to open all his gifts. After opening about 5 presents, he said his back hurt, and asked me to open the rest. LOL. Again...kids say the darnest things ;)

Later in the day we had my family over for Christmas Dinner! It was a lot of fun! While the Ham was cooking, we all exchanged gifts! Buddy got a MOE costume. Moe is his favorite character from the kids show, DoodleBops!
He got a lot of other gifts as well...so many that I can't even remember half of all the gifts he got ;)

We had a great Christmas this year, as we hope all reading this did, too!!

Congratulations to Babe!!!

As most of you know, Babe went to ComputerTraining.com a few years back. He started at the end of our pregnancy, and finished up when Buddy was only a few months old. Once he was done classes, he had to take 6 Microsoft Exams to become "Microsoft Certified!" Well, things got a little off-course at the time, so Mike held off on some of the exams. He had taken the 1st two...but needed the other 4!

Well, yesterday he took the 3rd one! And he PASSED!!!!!!! :)

Buddy & I are so very proud of him :) If you see him, tell him Congrats!

Only 3 more to go, and Mike will be Microsoft Certified :) YAY!!!!!

Hair Cut!

I forgot to mention that I got my hair cut last week!
My friend, Melissa, and I were in need of a change!!!!

BEFORE:AFTER:

How do you like???

Randomness

Well, 5 days 'til Christmas...and I think I can say that I'm ALMOST ready. This is unusual for me, as I usually have all the gifts, bought and wrapped, by the time Thanksgiving comes. But not this year. This year I find myself deperately looking for time to get all my shopping done, and trying even hard to find time to get the wrapping done. It's driving me crazy!!!! Plus, on top of that, we keep finding "hidden gifts" for Buddy around the house! 2 days ago I found 3 gifts under our bed...last night I found a gift in our dresser...Goodness this child is going to be getting SO MUCH for Christmas this year...LOL!!!! And while I'm finding all these gifts for Buddy, I keep losing gifts for other people. We bought my parents something a few months back, and now I have NO IDEA where it is! I've looked everywhere...and it's making me go crazy!!!!!!! It was a personal, from the heart, item, too...so I'm pretty upset about not being able to find it :(

My mom called last night, and her cousin, Jimmy, is now on hospice. They found out not too long ago that he has cancer, and he's already on hospice. They give him 2-3 weeks. I can't believe how fast Cancer can work! And here it is the holidays...i can't imagine the emotioins his wife and kids, and grandkids are going through. Shoot...I'm practically in tears, so I can only imagine how they are feeling. We're going Sunday to visit him. I'll let you know how that goes.

On a different note, we've had a lot of fun these last few days. The Ernest came over Monday night for dinner. We exchanged gifts. Luke got Buddy: CandyLand & Hi-Ho Cherry-O! I am so amazed at Buddy each time we play CandyLand! I didn't realize how well he knew his colors until we started playing!!!! That, and he beats me every time! The lil' bugger ;) He loves CandyLand! We tried playing Hi-Ho Cherry-O last night...and it felt like a never ending game...lol...we liked it, but definetely prefer CandyLand :)

Tuesday we were able to get our Gingerbread Tree together!!!!! All 3 of us had a great time working on it! While it ended up a little slanted, it's still beautiful!

We have also had fun playing with the kitties...we now have a Maura Claus & Annie, the black-nosed Reindeer ;)

If I don't write before Christmas, I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas :)

Our Kitten, Annie

Those of you who have cats, or have had them at some point in your lifetime, know that they are pretty good at using their litter boxes. If they don’t use their litter box, it’s usually because they are trying to tell you that something is wrong. You also know that the litter box should be completely cleaned, oh, at least once a week…

…here’s a funny story about our kittens, especially Annie.

Monday is the day we, or I should say Babe, cleans out the litter box. He does a great job at it, and even cleans up the bathroom floor and everything! So this past Monday, that is exactly what Babe did…cleaned the litter box and floor around it. (Keep this in mind, along with the fact that we have brand new carpet and furniture)! That evening, when I got home from work, our plans were to (finally) put up the Christmas tree, decorate it, and get all the other Christmas decorations out. Well, we got the tree up alright, but then decided to take a break for dinner.

After dinner, it was time for the lights to go on the tree! To our surprise, most of the lights were out in the lights we had, so Babe offered to go out and get more lights. He’s so great! Well, while Babe was out doing that, I decided to set some of the other Christmas things up, and make lunches for Buddy & I for Tuesday. While I was making Buddy’s lunch, Buddy was being a rather good boy, walking in and out of the kitchen, playing, watching tv, etc. At this certain point in time, he had just walked out of the kitchen. Not 10 seconds later I hear a “Mommy!!!! Eww!!!!! Get it off of me! I’m all wet!!!” And he comes running back into the kitchen, liquid dripping off of his face, and his shirt is pretty soaked. I asked “What is that? Did you spill your drink?” To which Buddy answers “Nnoooo…” I get a paper towel and wipe his face off; then I go to investigate the situation in the living room.

I walk into the living room, and I see Annie walking along the carpet, shaking her paws, and I think to myself “Annie got wet too…great!” I keep walking a little further, and notice a long puddle on our brand new sofa/chair! I tried to remain calm and I turned to Buddy and asked “Did you pee your pants?” To which he so innocently replied “No. I didn’t pee my pants…Annie did!” “ANNIE DID?!?” I asked, confused and shocked all at once. (You see, we’ve had Annie & Maura since they were about 2 months old, and they have ALWAYS used the litter box.) “Yes,” Buddy said, “and she peed on my face, and my shirt, too!”

I was still in shock, so I went into the kitchen and got more paper-towels to soak up the puddle of liquid on our brand new sofa! Sure enough, it was yellow, and I happen to notice the smell as soon as I went to clean it up. “Darn that cat! Why would she do that? And how did she have that much urine in her bladder???” All thoughts going through my mind. So I soak up the urine until I can’t soak anymore. Then I try calling Babe to see if he’s still at the store…while his phone in ringing in my ear, he walks in the door. Oops! “Honey…do you mind going back out? Annie peed on the sofa…and we need furniture cleaner!” “Annie did what?! Why?” Babe asks. How would I know…but it’s been done!

Babe runs back out to get furniture cleaner, and I give Buddy his 2nd bath of the day.

After all is settled down, we decide to continue the Christmas decorations Tuesday, and all sit down to watch a movie.

Now it’s early Tuesday morning. I get up to get ready for work, and find “cat droppings” next to the toilet. What the heck? I immediately blame it on Annie, b/c of her actions the night before, scoop it up, and just toss it into their litter box.

A few hours later, while Babe & Buddy are getting ready in the morning, I receive a text from Babe “Cat(s) pooped in Buddy’s room!!!!” Now I was really beginning to worry. I call the vets, tell them whats happened, and they want to see Annie.

We take Annie to the vets. They take our stool sample for test, but are unable to get their own urine sample from her. We are charged $80 for the visit, and get sent home with a “home urine sample kit”! Woohoo!

Later on in the evening, we decide we’ll keep Annie in our bathroom with the “fake” kitty litter, and move the actual box into our room for Maura to use.

(Okay…here comes the funny part)

I pick up the litter box to move it from our bathroom to our bedroom and think to myself “Wow…this is really light. Babe must not have put a lot of litter in. Maybe we were low.” And as I’m thinking this, I’m also preparing to look into the litter box. And as I look into the litter, I see: the pan liner, and the few “cat droppings” I shoveled in earlier. That’s it. No litter.

NO LITTER!!!!!!!!!! What the heck?! No wonder the cats have been leaving present all over the place!!!!

I say to Babe “Uh, babe. Where’s the litter?” “It should be in the box…” he replies. “It’s not” I say. To which Babe replies “Are you for real?! Oh crap! I forgot to put the litter in!”

And then we just start cracking up!!!!

No wonder Annie peed all over Buddy and had a puddle full of urine to leave on our brand new furniture…she had been holding it all day because she didn’t know where the litter was!!!! And no wonder we found kitty presents in the bathroom and Buddy’s room…they just couldn’t hold it anymore!!! Poor kitties!!! We’re lucky it wasn’t worse than it was!!!!!!!! And we’re lucky Annie’s not sick! We were worried about her!!!!!!!

So that’s our funny kitty story. I hope it amused you as much as we are, and will probably always be, amused by it ;) Babe will NEVER live this one down!!!!

Dollar Days

This past weekend was “dollar days” downtown. So Saturday, Buddy & I, along with Melissa, Mitri & Sarah, and Josh, Jenn, Luke & Faith, headed down to the aquarium. Melis was running a little late in the morning, so Josh & Jenn decided to head on down before us. It worked out great, b/c by the time Melis & I with the kids got down there, they had just finished getting tickets!

So we walked in and started our way through the aquarium. Buddy’s goal this day was to see Nemo ;) Just about every exhibit we saw, he asked if Nemo was in it ;) haha It was funny, b/c just about every other kid there was looking for Nemo, too. Other parents laughed when Buddy asked about Nemo, and said theirs were doing the same thing. We were even relating the other animals to those in Nemo…like the stingrays, they were the teacher in Nemo. And the sharks…they helped Dorie & Nemo’s dad! Yes, we finally did see a Nemo…a few of them, actually. But they were hiding, and we only got a small peek at them!!!!! It made Buddyhappy, though : )

At one point, Luke & Buddy were standing right up to the glass, amazed at a crocodile! A HUGE fish started swimming right in front of them. Josh said “Hey Luke, look at the fish!” Luke looked down, and screamed at the stop of his lungs! Haha! It was hilarious! He had the whole room laughing ;)

By the time we were done looking through the aquarium, everyone was hungry. Jenn suggested going to P.F.Changs right across from the Aquarium, so that’s where we went! The food was delicious, and the service was great! I definitely want to go there again!

After lunch, we all headed home to relax! It had been a busy morning/afternoon!!!!

Later that night, Buddy & I went to an “ornament party” for our friends Tony & Sarah! It was a really cool party idea…everyone who came had to bring an ornament to put on their tree! We got them a Raven’s ornament, and little snowmen bells with their names on it : ) While at the party, we got to make gingerbread houses…from scratch! I’ve been used to the pre-made, boxed ones these past few years…so making my own was a little difficult. Buddy had fun with that, but I think he enjoyed eating it more ;) haha We were at the party ‘til late, and Buddy fell asleep on the way home. Once we got home, I was in bed, passed out, right away!!!! What a busy day!

You can tell Buddy has a mouth full of yummies ;)

Our Adventures in New York City!!! 11/30 - 12/2/07

Wow, did we have a fantastic time in New York City this past weekend!!! We left friday around 1:20pm, and got into NYC around 5:30! We were going up to see our friends, Cynthia & Matt!!! Cynthia met us at the Port Authority in NYC, and we were off on our adventure.

Friday, 11/30/07

Cynthia took us to her and Matt's apartment. We got to ride on the subway! And whoever said that New Yorker's had the worst additude was way wrong! It was jam packed when we got on the subway, so we were forced to stand. There were two younger boys sitting near us, and they saw me strugging while holding buddy and trying to hang on for dear life. So they both asked if I would like their seat! I kindly accepted, and thanked them! The rest of the ride on the subway, Buddy was the hit of our area! The guy who stood up for us to sit really liked him. Buddy kept kicking him, and pulling his headphones, but all he could do was laugh. We later found out that he had a 4 year old brother...that explains a lot ;) haha One lady told Buddy that he was so cute he should be a Gerber Baby, to which Buddy exclaimed "I'm not a baby! You're a baby!" And the lady cracked up! A little bit later, it must have clicked in that she also called him "cute", b/c out of no-where Buddy said "hey! i'm not cute!!!" haha it was hilarious!!!

When we got to Cyn & Matt's place, Matt took us on a tour of their beautiful apartment building! They live on the 46th floor...i think there are 56 floors, plus their rooftop solarium!!! After we did that, and Cynthia walked their dog, Ceaser, we headed out to dinner @ RED (http://www.arkrestaurants.com/section_home.cfm?section_id=1&location_id=1&restaurant_id=12).This restaurant is kind of like Don Pablos. It was located at South SeaPort, which is an area just like our Inner Harbor! The 1st thing we saw there was their BIG christmas tree. ..which was no where near as big as Rockefellar's tree!!! We ate dinner, and Buddy passed out while we ate. Then we walked around the area for a little before heading back to their apartment.

Since it was Matt's birthday, Cynthia & Matt went out with some of their friends & coworkers, and we stayed behind, and pretty much went straight to bed! We were exhausted!!!

Saturday, 12/1/07

Saturday we headed out around 10am. Matt stayed behind to recover from the night before ;) We're glad he had a great birthday celebration!!! We started out going to Wall Street. There was saw one of the Trump Buildings, Trinity Church & The Charging Bull Statue. There was a group of about 15 people at the statue when we got there, and they took forever taking pictures...lol. Buddy was scared of the statue, but our picture turned out really good :)

After that, we headed to Ground Zero. Talk about being in complete awe. I was speechless. All i could think about was what happened that day, the people running from the terror...i was just amazed. The first fire station to react to the calls had a wall memorial that was simply amazing. Just being there has changed my outlook on the whole situation.

Oh yea, I guess I should mention that our stroller broke. We didn't notice until we got to the bus station in Baltimore that it was a little on the "sick" side. Then on saturday morning, one of the handles completely broke off. So while we were doing all this site seeing, we were all taking turns holding Buddy and looking for another stroller! It was rather frustrating. We had no luck this far.

After Ground Zero we went to Battery Park and saw the Statue of Liberty from far, far away! After that, we decided to head to lunch at Peanut Butter & Co. This place was so great! All it had was peanut butter sandwiches...with just about anything you can imagine! Buddy got the original PB&J, while Cynthia & I decided on "The Elvis." The Elvis consisted of: Peanut Butter, Bananas, Honey & Bacon. To our surprise it was very good! Babe decided on "The Heat is On." His sandwich consisted of spicy peanut butter, chicken & pineapple chunks. Why he thought this appetizing, we'll never know, but it took just one bite for Babe to realize he wasn't going to eat anymore...LOL! Lucky for him, I only ate half of mine, and Buddy only ate half of his ;)

After lunch, we headed to FAO Schwartz. This is where we finally found us a new stroller! I asked the sales lady for their cheapest stroller, and was shocked when she showed me the one she did!!!! However, we were willing to pay an arm and a leg at this point (we felt like we already had from carrying Buddy all morning), so we bought the cheapest one they had. It's a pretty nifty stroller...it had a rain cover, that we ended up using for the wind. After we purchased the stroller, we made our way up to the BIG piano. Buddy & I took our turn at playing on it! It was soooo much fun!!! Shortly after we played on it, the experts came and did a show. It was amazing to see them play! What a great workout it was, too! I wouldn't mind having one of them at our house ;) haha

After the BIG Piano we left FAO Schwartz, and started on a search for some NYC Pizza!!!! We found a place called “Ray’s Pizza.” The pizza was good, but the service was horrible! Buddy had passed out on the way to pizza, so he missed out on the yummy-ness : (

After pizza, we went to the big M&M Store!!!!! This is a store with 3 floors of nothing but M&M fun!!!!! There was an area where you can get “scanned” to see what your M&M color mood was. Babe, Buddy & I all did it! Babe’s color was WHITE: You feel the urge to do some good; eating chocolate is good…! Funny how the night before, he had us stop at Godiva so he could get some chocolate ;) haha Buddy’s color was DARK GREEN: People appreciate your honesty. He wanted Orange, but was happy with dark green! My color was CREAM: You like to laugh and make people laugh; not AT you, but WITH you! Haha That was pretty cool! Buddy ended up getting a little bag of yellow M&M’s, and we bought a 4-pack of mini-m&m glasses, and were on our way to the next stop…
…The GINORMOUS Christmas Tree at Rockefellar! Talk about a crowd! We had to go about 2-3 streets down just to get close to the tree!!!!! It was hard fighting crowds with a stroller, but we did the best we could! The tree was amazing…huge with lights on practically every inch of it!!!! The Cat in the Hat & Grinch were there, so Buddy was more occupied with them, than the tree…but we all had a good time there ;)

Next, we headed to Central Park to take a Horse & Carriage ride! That was so much fun!!!!!! We were all able to get on the same carriage!!!!!! Buddy really liked it, and didn’t want to get off…haha :)

It was about 6:30pm by now, and we were all getting hungry. We were going to try a place called “Mars 2112”, but decided it would have been a little scary for Buddy. But the place looked really neat! It had a $2 admission (I know…to a restaurant??) but you took a “space ship ride” to the restaurant. While at the restaurant, aliens were walking around, etc. Buddy definitely wouldn’t have liked that, so we decided to try somewhere else. We ended up at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant! It was a 1 ½ hour wait, and lucky for us, Toys-R-Us was right across the street, so we headed there while we waited!

While at Toys-r-us, Babe, Buddy & I rode on their ferris wheel. It’s a huge ferris wheel, inside the store, that goes as tall as all 4 of their floors! Buddy was amazed by it, and immediately saw the Toy Story car on it! He was determined to get on that one…the “buzz lightyear” one, as he called it! We got our tickets around 7:30, but had to wait until 8:20 to get in line for it. So we roamed the store. Buddy played with a lot of toys, as did the rest of us ;) haha When it was time to get in line, we went down, and Cynthia & Matt stayed on one of the other levels to watch. We were 2nd in line when the guy asked us “is the Toy Story car alright with you guys?” It took a moment to sink in, then I finally yelled “YES!” haha…Buddy was going to get the car he wanted!!!!! We were all so excited!!!!!!! While we were on the Ferris Wheel, Cynthia & Matt headed over to the restaurant incase our name was called. It ended up being perfect timing, b/c maybe 2 minutes before the 3 of us got to the restaurant, they were seated! Our timing with everything really turned out great!!!!

Bubba Gump Shrimp was fantastic! We got a shrimp appetizer for all to share. Babe & I shared a meal of 4 different types of shrimp. Buddy got his normal mac & cheese, but also ate some of our shrimp. Cynthia got the stuffed shrimp, and I’m not sure what Matt got. But it was ALL very good!!!!! Since Matt’s birthday was Friday, someone told our waitress, and they ended up singing to him : )

By the time dinner was over it was 10. We didn’t get back to Cyn & Matt’s place until 11:30pm!!!!!! It had been a very long day, and we all went to sleep quickly!!!!!!

Sunday, 12/2/07

We woke up to snow today!!!!!! I had my alarm set for 8:30. I got up, took a shower, and then woke babe up so he could shower. By 9:30, Buddy was STILL asleep! We eventually woke him up and as soon as he spotted the snow he was excited! He even asked us if Santa was coming now ;) haha He’s so cute!!!!! The 3 of us went to the apartments restaurant for breakfast, while Cyn & Matt got ready. When we got back, we went up to their rooftop solarium, and Buddy started playing in the snow ;) From their solarium we could see the Brooklyn & Manhatten Bridges!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We spent a few minutes up there, then had to head to the Subway…it was time to go home : (

We got to the bus station an hour early…but the 11:30 bus before us still hadn’t left…NOT a good sign. We said our Good-Byes so Cynthia & Matt, and they were on their way back. No more then 5 minutes after they left, an announcement came on saying ALL buses were delayed due to the weather…I was thinking JUST GREAT!!!!!! However, it ended up we left on time, and got back to Baltimore a little after our scheduled time! So everything turned out great!

We had a fantastic weekend in New York City, and have Cynthia & Matt to Thank!!!!!!!!

Hands up HIGH!!!!

Buddy and I were straigthening up last night, when he said, in a singing voice, "Hands up high! Hands down low!" then he stopped. So I asked him what song that was and if he could sing it to me...and he did! So I thought I'd share it with ya. And next time you see him, you'll have to ask him to sing the "Hands up high!" song ;)

Hands up high! Hands down low!
Hide your hands. Where'd they go?
Out comes one...out comes two...
Clap them! Fold them!
Now we're through!

I'd never heard of the song, and Buddy knows it all :) So cute :)

Thanksgiving Holiday

I hope everyone's Thanksgiving Holiday was a great one! Ours was!

11/22/07 - Thanksgiving Day
We woke up thursday morning and Buddy was excited to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on TV. It finally came on, and Buddy was glued! He loved all the big balloons, and floats! Every time it went to commercial, he got upset, thinking it was over ;) After the parade, we all got ready. Babe had to work :( So he left for work. Buddy and I headed over to my Aunt's house for Thanksgiving Dinner! We had a great time there, and watched Home Alone 2: Lost in New York! After my aunt's house, we took a trip up to Delta, PA to Babe's cousin, Rachel's house! It is their new home, absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! It's huge, and Buddy was able to play with the toys Rachel had from watching another little boy! Buddy was the red power-ranger all night. At some point, my bestest, Melis, called to say she wasn't feeling well, and wouldn't be coming up super early to shop, so I decided to go to the Lancaster outlets with the girls of the H family. Michelle, Babe's cousin, offered to take Buddy home and watch him...Thank you, Michelle!!!!! So around 11pm, me, my mother-in-law, Aunt Sandy, Aunt Betty, Rachel & Grandmom Harper all headed to the Lancaster outlets. We got there right at 12am, when they opened! It was packed! But we all shopped til we dropped, and 5 hours later, we headed home. I was dropped off around 6:30am, and figured since I was already up, I may as well finish up some shopping I was planning to do, and went on my way to Target ;) I finally got to bed around 9am friday morning...haha ;) It was a lot of fun!!!!!! I'd do it again!

11/23/07 - Black Friday
I woke up friday around 11, and my Mom came up for lunch. Her and Dad had a party to go to that night, so I offered to watch Ella...on 3 hours of sleep I was now watching Ella & Buddy...lol. They were pretty good friday night...Ella had an hour nap around 7:30, but never went back to sleep. Buddy & Ella were both wide awake when my parents got home around 11...haha! I, on the other hand, was ready to pass out!!!!!

11/24/07
Saturday was an eventful day as well! Buddy & I went to the Playhouse Disney concert with my cousin Amanda, and her son Austin! It was a ton of fun...our seats kind of sucked...but the kids still had a blast! Buddy talks about it everyday, and runs down the whole list of the characters we saw...Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy, Handy Manny, Tigger & Pooh, and the Little Einsteins ;) See...i know it for memory, too! haha

Saturday night I was supposed to go out for my friend, Carmen's, birthday. But i had really started feeling sick, so I decided not to go :( Buddy and I hung out all night, watching the new DoodloeBops Christmas CD. Jamie also stopped by on his way home to Cecil Co!

11/25/07
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MELISSA!!!!!!
Sunday Babe was off work, so that meant a family day...woohoo! Unfortuneatly, though, Buddy and I fell asleep around noon, and didn't wake up until 3pm! LOL...we both needed that long nap! When we got up, we quickly got ready, ran to Giant, and then to our friends, The Ernest's, home to watch the Raven's game! They have a son, Luke, who is almost 3...and him and Buddy are best buds! Buddy & Luke immediately went downstairs to play, and us adults ate, drank, and watched the miserable Raven's game...lol! Still, we had a terrific time!!! Buddyr asked to borrow The Grinch movie when we left, and when we got home we all watched that together :)

11/26/07
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CARMEN!!!!!!
Monday was back to work for me. When I got home, we put up some of our Christmas lights, then got ready to go visit Santa Claus!!!!!!! Buddy said he would sit on his lap, all by himself, and that he did! :) Babe & I are so proud of him! The very first thing he asked Santa was "Santa...you like macaroni & cheese?" haha...that's Buddy for ya! He had a great conversation with Santa, and told Santa he wanted Diego toys, transformers & power rangers! We then proceeded to have Ella sit on Santas lap with Buddy, but Ella wanted NOTHING to do with Santa. The pics of that are great, too!!!!! haha When Buddy got off Santa's lap (he was probably on there about 5 minutes!), Santa called me over. He told me that Buddy was shaking so much when I first sat him down! But way to go Buddy, for not being scared!!!!!!!
After seeing Santa, we all went to dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, then my mom took Buddy to buy some nice black dressy shoes, and Diego tennis shoes!

You know, it's amazing how much fun the holidays are again. Seeing the holdidays through Buddy's eyes is just like being a kid again. When I see how excited Buddy gets b/c we're putting up Christmas lights...and when Buddy says "I love you for putting up these christmas lights!" in the most excited tone ever...it just brings back all the excitement I had as a kid, too! It's wonderful!!!!! I cannot wait until Christmas morning...Buddy has been a good boy this year, and Santa is very proud of him!!!!

Buddy's 1st Visit to the Dentist!

Buddy had his 1st dental appt on Friday, November 16th! Although he was really nervous, he did a great job! We took him to a pediatric dentist. When I called to make an appt, they sent a personalized book to Buddy, about how his 1st visit was going to be. We read that book every night in the weeks before his appointment. I think it helped to prepare him!

He was a little iffy about certain things...like, he didn't let the hygenist use the sucker instrument. And it took him a while to lay back in the chair, where he eventually just sat up while the hygenist cleaned his teeth. But he did great, and had a great time!
When the dentist came in to see Buddy, he gave us a scare. He said that Buddy's back teeth are darker than his front, so he was checking for cavities! Luckily, Buddy has no cavities. The Dentist said that sometimes teeth just grow in a different color. Weird. But at least it's his back teeth...lol!
Here are a few pics of his 1st visit :)

Buddy opening wide, saying "AaaHhhhh!!!!"

Buddy said the chair going back was a "fun ride!" ;)

Buddy getting his teeth tickled ;)

Buddy all excited at the great job he did :)

20 some years later...

Who would have thought that Superman would be popular for such a long period of time?!
I had no idea until my mother-in-law found this picture...

Can you guess who this is?!

And about 20 years later...take a look at this...

Finally got the Medieval Times up!

Tuesday night, Babe & I finally got around to putting up the Medieval Times wallpaper cutouts for Buddy's room! I must admit, he LOVES them!!!! And they look great! They were so easy to put on, too!!!!!!

Buddy is helping Mommy put the Knight on the wall! This was his favorite piece! ;)

This is what it looks like!

And it is now complete, with our very own knight, Sir Buddy ;)

Let me know what you all think of it :)

Cats love the Tile!

Well the tile is done! And it looks GREAT!!!!!!! Everything is still stuffed into our living room, though :( We have to wait 24-48 hours before cleaning off the tile, so by this weekend, our living room should look semi-normal...lol!

The cats took to the tile very well! They were laying on it all last night!

I'll have more pics as soon as it's all cleaned up :)

Playing Catch Up!

So I’ve been slacking, and it’s been a good while since last writing. I apologize, but things have been really busy!

Trick-or-Treating went great! Buddy was really into it this year! We went to my parents neighborhood, so Peter Pan could go out with TinkerBell ;) Buddy went up to every house (that had their light on, of course) and said “THANK YOU!!!!!” hahaha…we then reminded him he needed to say “TRICK-OR-TREAT” first, then “THANK YOU!!!!” haha, he eventually got the hang of it! Walking away from each house Buddy would excitedly ask “Are we going to another house now?!?” and when Babe & I responded “Yes we are!” Buddy would get even more excited and scream “I LOVE THIS!!!!!” haha it was sooooo cute!!!!!!!! He made out VERY WELL with candy ;)

We are well into our next home project! We are tiling our sunroom & kitchen, with a walkway to the front door! They tile guys started on Sunday, and should be finishing up today! I am very excited! It already looks great, I can’t wait to see the finished project!!!!! Then next week we are getting new carpet in the living room, and new furniture! I can’t wait! It’s all going to look fantastic! I will have some before/after pictures up as soon as it’s all done :)

Not much else is new. I am driving a rental car for the next few days from when I was rear-ended a week or so back. It’s a Dodge Stratus, and I really like it! Buddy likes it too. When he got in it for the 1st time, all he could say was “This is a really cool car!” haha

Can you believe that White Marsh is having their holiday parade this Saturday?! It just seems to get earlier and earlier every year! While we plan on taking Buddy to the parade, he still won’t see Santa until after Thanksgiving. I just can’t give in to taking him before that…maybe it’s just me?! That is, if he’ll even see Santa at all. He says he’ll sit on his lap this year, if Babe & I go with him, so I’m hoping he really does!!!!! He’s been scared the last year or two!

That’s it for now. I’ll do my best to write more often! :)

Happy Halloween!

Buddy has 2 costumes this year...Peter Pan & Buzz Lightyear.

He wanted Babe& I to go along with the Peter Pan theme, so I am Tiger Lily, and Babe is Captain Hook! My neice, Ella, is Tinkerbell :)

To Infinity & Beyond!!!!!!

My Angel!

It's been 2 years since my Nana passed away, and it still feels just like yesterday. It was expected, yet unexpected, and I can still feel the way I felt when I got the phone call from her neighbor, who was worried b/c her curtains were still closed, and it was the afternoon. Then how I felt calling my mom at work to tell her, who then rushed to her house. Then getting the call from my mom, in tears, telling me she's gone. Then finally, going to her house, to see her...so lifeless...sitting in her chair.

And it's still her chair. Though her chair is now at my parents house, I've yet to sit in it these past 2 years, and I don't think I ever will. It's hers...another little part of her I won't ever be able to let go...

So to my Nana...I am glad you are in a better place. Not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind, and I miss you sooooo much!!! I know you're up there, looking down on us, blessing us. I just wish I could touch your hand one more time!!!!!! You truly are, my Angel!

(taken from Kellie Pickler's "My Angel")

You were my best friend
You were everything I want to be
And all the good inside of me There's never been
Never been another
That loved me like you did
My Nana, my angel
Even though I can't touch your face, I feel you with me every day. I wish you could see all my dreams coming true. When I get lost I close my eyes, and I feel you shining down so bright; I feel you shining down on me.
You were my best friend
You were everything I want to be
And all the good inside of me there's never been
Never been another
That loved me like you did
My Nana, my angel
You were my best friend. You were everything I want to be, and all the good inside of me there's never been. Never been anotherThat loved me like you did...

Maryland Renn Fest

Yesterday, we spent the day at the MD Renn Festival! It was a perfect day, and we all had such a wonderful time!!! Buddy really loves it there! Yesterday, all he really wanted to do was watch all the shows ;) His favorite was the jousting! He is really into all the knights and horses! The 3 of us got to ride on an Elephant!!!! It was expensive, but the fact that Buddy wasn't scared, was worth every penny. And it was soooo much fun on the Elephant!!!

Here are some Renn Fest pics:

Today, when Buddywoke up, he went in and used the bathroom all by himself! Usually, he'll wake one of us to tell us he has to go, but today he didn't. He went right on into the bathroom, and used it all by himself! Such a big boy! I think we'll be putting up his medieval stickers very soon ;)
